    Engineer - Signalling Technology Operations

    Job Description
    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The Signalling Technology Operation Engineer will form a part of a highly skilled group of technical experts who are responsible of technical management of the Bayobab connectivity infrastructure especially the signaling and roaming setup.  he will organize, coordinate, and supervise signaling peering and international Roaming technical activities (configuration, testing and support) in line with the overall business objectives of the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
    • Manage and support Signalling peering (Diameter, SS7) and security (Signaling Firewall) with MTN Opcos and SCCP carriers and Roaming Hub. 
    • Manage International Roaming (Technical Coordination).
    • Ensure departmental and special project implementation with stakeholders in timely manner (e.g. planned expansions, upgrades, migrations, swaps, new services).
    • Manage signalling and Roaming performance and Quality monitoring as per MTN Group standard (General service KPIs, Capacity monitoring KPIs, operational KPIs).
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective support (requests, complaints, incidents, problems, change management) and resolve all escalated operational issues in a timely manner.
    • Ensure service availability by keeping the roaming and signalling database updated and consistent to avoid service disturbance.
    • Prevent and address any potential revenue leakage identified on Roaming & Interconnect areas.
    • Business Continuity Management by implementing the Group BCM Redundancy solution for critical links and node. 
    • Develop Policies, Processes & Procedures: Analyze the existing procedures and propose new ones to enhance quality and productivity. Develop and maintain effective processes to ensure effective interface with Customer Care, Marketing, Sales and Finance Departments. 
    • Manage risk by clearing audit findings (internal, external). 
    • Provide inputs for departmental CAPEX/OPEX budgets elaboration and support its execution.
    • Produce the periodical reports of the Department on schedule

    Role Deliverables

    • Ensure the service KPI and KQI are on target 
    • Ensure the support service level is meeting the SLA contract or target.
    • Support all troubleshooting for all Signaling and roaming service within the define MTTR.  
    • Provide the solution design on business request for new service implementation. 
    • Signalling network Optimization and security against illegal and fraudulent traffic. 
    • Partner peering and roaming coverage expansion
    • Service delivery 

    Qualifications
    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

    • Minimum 4 Year bachelor’s degree in equivalent specialization MSc, MBA is a plus.

    Experience:

    • Minimum five (3) years in GSM environment

    Competencies:

    • GSM, GPRS/UMTS/CDMA Core Network System architecture
    • SSS Standard Operation and Maintenance Tasks
    • Signalling protocols
    • Networking and TCP/IP protocol stack basics
    • Data Base administration, programming principles
    • Roaming management principles
    • Knowledge in Traffic analysis
    • Project management (be able to use Microsoft Project)
    • Manager track record of 5+ years; with at least 3 years in Telecom industry.

    Other:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Manager - Information Management and Analytics (Data Ops)

    Mission:

    • To oversee the Information Management and Analytics framework to support the delivery of platforms and solutions for business performance reporting, data analysis and analytics, artificial intelligence, customer value management, data monetization through insights, and overall data management in the organization.

    Description:

    • Contribute to the development of systems and solutions delivery methodology and framework to guide related activities within the IT Division, defining standards, processes, procedures, metrics, and operations requirements.
    • Lead and guide a team of data analysts, engineers, and scientists responsible for the day-to-day delivery of business reporting requirements and enterprise data management.
    • Lead the deployment of systems, platforms, and new technologies in the BI, Analytics, CVM, and AI ecosystems.

    • Lead a group of technical experts responsible for the design and delivery of business reports, data integration, data analytics projects, and artificial intelligence initiatives.

    Education:

    • A first degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, technology, or a related discipline
    • A master’s degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • Professional certifications in IT and data/analytics domains will be an added advantage.
    • Fluent in English

    Experience:

    • 6–13 years’ experience, which includes:
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialization, with experience in supervising or managing others
    • Experience working in a medium- to large organization
    • Experience in implementing a big data and/or analytics solution, including a data warehouse and big data solutions
    • Experience in enterprise data integration from multiple upstream data sources to BI or Big Data Platform

    Senior Manager - Data and IP Services Support.Network

    Mission:

    • To manage teams in providing end-to-end delivery and support of High-Quality and High Availability Data Services and IP Core Network across all MTNN coverage locations.
    • Description:
    • Liaise with the Network Implementation and Planning Departments to ensure that the implementation and onward management of Data and IP Core projects are in accordance with the respective plans and contract agreements.
    • Responsible for the development of an optimal and cost-effective Data and IP Core Network strategy for MTNN.
    • Coordinate and ensure timely development of the PPPs and an optimal network plan or design to support the implementation of Data and IP Core for MTNN.
    • Carry out evaluation of proposals, assist in technology evaluation and equipment forecast, and ensure adequate tools and resources are available for Data and IP Core Network activities.

    • Ensure that Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core projects match marketing and sales requirements and are designed to achieve the quality and performance KPIs and targets as defined by the business.
    • Provide monthly and quarterly progress updates on Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core projects.
    • Initiate spares and material management and support as it relates to Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core project implementation.
    • Collaborate with other business units in the development of business models for use in MTNN and develop measurement strategies to support ongoing strategy development and project optimization.
    • Coach and train the departmental team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets and requirements, and regular review of their training needs.

    Education:

    • First degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications
    • Fluent in English and the language of the country is preferable.

    Experience:

    • 9–17 years experience working on complex, commercially sensitive mobile/fixed Data and IP core networks (e.g., technology evaluations/integration, due diligence, etc.):
    • Manager track record of 3 years or more, with at least 3 years in the relevant sector or industry
    • Work experience across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
    • Experience in a GSM or mobile environment, preferably in a high-level support role in the core network
    • Experience in support of a multi-vendor mobile/fixed data network or IP core, network security, and enterprise environment

    Analyst - Campaign Management.Marketing NG

    Mission

    • Assist in the development, implementation and measurement of various Below The Line (BTL) campaign programmes that focus on customer retention and customer life-cycle management. 
    • Also leverage the outbound and inbound channels for campaign execution aimed at reducing churn and increasing customers’ spend.

    Description

    • Identify opportunities within the base for revenue optimization and campaign management, with the aim of developing relevant programs to address these opportunities. 
    • Monitor and track campaign performance over the campaign lifecycle and ensure the right decisions are taken regarding continuing or discontinuing campaigns. 
    • Design and execute pilot campaigns to determine the best approach to campaign deployment and offer development and campaign scripting before scale-up. 
    • Utilize both inbound and outbound campaign management platforms for the purpose of campaign execution, deployment, and evaluation. 
    • Ensure no revenue dilution as a result of campaign activities. 
    • Provide support to the campaign segmentation analyst as required. 
    • Contribute and participate in campaign idea generation meetings and cross-functional Customer Lifecycle Management meetings as required.
    • Interface with segment managers to understand their campaign needs for supporting product development and performance throughout their product lifecycle.
    • Liaise with vendors responsible for managing systems, tools, and capabilities within CVM for campaign management and analytical needs.

    • Take ownership of the go-to-market process, ensuring all processes and customer journeys are designed and followed. 
    • Design monthly campaign calendar and campaign plan for execution, ensuring timelines are met and targeting is in line with strategy. 

    Education:

    • First degree in any related discipline
    • Fluent in English

    Experience:

    • 3 - 7 years’ experience including:
    • Experience working in a medium-sized organization 
    • Experience in database, direct marketing, or product management in the telecommunications industry 
    • Experience in developing test designs, significance testing, establishing error ranges, and key success metrics. 
    • Experience with major campaign management platform(s) within the telecoms industry 
    • Demonstrable data mining, analytical skills, and segmentation techniques 
    • Good understanding of customer data analysis, propensity modeling, and segmentation techniques; excellent understanding of data manipulation and interrogation techniques.
