    WASH Assistant

    • The WASH Assistant Officer will assist the WASH Officer in implementing WASH-related activities in the community, focusing on hygiene promotion, water source management, and program monitoring. The assistant officer will support community engagement, data collection, and program implementation under the guidance of the WASH Officer.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in facilitating community engagement meetings and small group sessions.
    • Support hygiene promotion activities through house-to-house visits.
    • Assist in distributing WASH kits and Aquatab to households.
    • Participate in water source mapping, WQ assessments, and source chlorination.
    • Help monitor program activities, collecting data for impact assessment.
    • Assist in reporting and documenting program progress.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Diploma or Certificate in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field.
    • Experience in WASH programming or community development.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in challenging field environments.
    • Fluency in local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, etc.) and basic English.

    Water Chlorinator

    JOB SUMMARY

    • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Water Chlorinator to join our team in Bama.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of water sources through water quality assessments and chlorination, as well as distributing Aquatab to households.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water treatment and a commitment to improving public health.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct regular Water Quality (WQ) assessments to determine the safety of water sources
    • Implement source chlorination to ensure water sources meet WHO standards
    • Distribute Aqua tab to households in the community, ensuring equitable access to safe water
    • Monitor and record water quality data, identifying areas for improvement
    • Collaborate with the WASH team to ensure integrated implementation of WASH activities
    • Provide technical support to community members on proper water treatment and handling practices

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Diploma or Certificate in Water Treatment, Public Health, or related field
    • At least 1 year of experience in water treatment, preferably in a humanitarian setting
    • Strong knowledge of water quality assessment and chlorination procedures
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to ride a motorcycle (preferred)
    • Fluency in local languages (mandatory)

    WASH Officer

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The WASH Officer will be responsible for implementing WASH-related activities in the community, focusing on hygiene promotion, water source management, and program monitoring.
    • The officer will engage with community leaders, stakeholders, and households to ensure the effective delivery of WASH services.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Facilitate community engagement meetings and small group sessions with LGA leaders and stakeholders.
    • Conduct house-to-house visits for hygiene promotion using Cholera flipcharts.
    • Distribute WASH kits and Aquatab to households.
    • Map water sources, conduct water quality assessments, and implement source chlorination.
    • Monitor program activities regularly, establishing reference points against impact.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field.
    • Experience in WASH programming, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
    • Strong communication and community engagement skills.
    • Ability to work in challenging field environments.
    • Fluency in English and local languages (Hausa, Kanuri).
