    Director of Works & Maintenance

    Responsibilities
    Director of Works is responsible to the Vice- Chancellor for the day-to-running of the Directorate. Other functions of the Director, includes:

    • Responsibility for the day to day physical/infrastructural facilities management and maintenance in the University.
    • Supervision and ensuring quality standards/maintenance and servicing of physical structures in the University.
    • Keeping an inventory of all university properties and having responsibility for its maintenance, security and upkeep;
    • Carrying out other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.

    Qualifications

    • Candidate for the post must have a good honours Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, Quantity Surveying or any relevant degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of second class lower division plus NYSC discharge certificate, evidence of exemption or exclusion.
    • Possession of a higher degree in relevant field would be an added advantage.
    • Be a member of an appropriate professional body with a current practicing license as well as a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification working experience and must have attained the rank of a Deputy Director or its equivalent in a University system or tertiary institution.
    • Applicant must be proactive, have high integrity and moral character, with excellent communication and interpersonal relations.
    • S/he must fully understand the complexity of the university system and command respect and engender loyalty of the university community.
    • S/he must enjoy good mental and physical health, be ICT compliant with proficiency in relevant computer applications and be able to provide good professional leadership to the staff of his/ her Directorate.
    • Candidate should not be above 60 years at the time of assumption of office.

    Conditions of Service

    • The successful candidate for the post of Director of Works and Maintenance shall hold office for a period of four (4) years from the effective date of appointment.

    Remuneration
    The salary and conditions of service are as applicable to the respective offices in Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the University's Governing Council as appropriate.

    University Librarian

    Responsibilities

    • The University Librarian, a Principal Officer, is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the effective management of the University Library, coordination of library services and resources in the University.
    • As an academic staff, s/he is expected to give both academic and administrative leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates for the post of University Librarian must possess a good second-class honours and Master's Degrees, and preferably Ph.D in Library and Information Science from recognized institutions.
    • The candidate must demonstrate academic excellence through quality publications, teaching, research and must be computer proficient.
    • S/he must demonstrate proficiency in the application of new technologies to library operations and services.
    • The candidate must have at least fifteen (15) years of post-qualification relevant experience in university library.
    • The University Librarian must possess demonstrable leadership qualities, be of proven integrity, and be resourceful manager of men and materials.
    • The candidate should not be older that 60 years at the time of assumption of duty.

    Registrar

    Responsibilities

    • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer and a Principal Officer of the University.
    • S/he shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University. By virtue of the office, the Registrar is the Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation and numerous statutory committees.
    • The Registrar is, therefore, expected to guide on rules, regulations and procedures in the administration of the University.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates for the post of Registrar should possess at least a second-class honours Degree from a recognized University plus NYSC discharge certificate or evidence of exemption.
    • Possession of relevant higher degrees will be an added advantage.
    • The candidate must, in addition, be registered with a recognised professional body.
    • S/ he must have fifteen (15) years post qualification experience, and must be holding at least the position of a Deputy Registrar in a University.
    • Computer skills and proficiency in relevant personnel and human resources management are required.
    • The candidate should not be older than 60 years at the time of assumption of duty and must be of sound physical and mental health and have a good understanding of the vision and mission of the university.
    • S/he must have the ability to provide good leadership, possess personal integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life and be able to command respect and loyalty of staff.

    The conditions of service and salary is as obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by the Federal Government and the University's Governing Council.
