    Information, Communication Technology (ICT) Officer

    Duration: 6 months 

    Job Summary

    The IT Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of LESGO’s technology infrastructure. He/She will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of LESGO technology infrastructure.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibility 1: IT Project Management and System Maintenance

    • IT, Data and Software management
    • Maintain and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, websites and other hardware.
    • Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance efficiency and security.
    • Configure and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Monitor network traffic and security to prevent unauthorized access and ensure data integrity.
    • Install, configure, and update software applications used within the organization.
    • Provide technical support and assistance to users encountering software-related issues.
    • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization’s IT infrastructure and data.
    • Conduct training sessions to educate users on IT systems and tools.
    • Collate and store all organization data, information and reports from all projects on clouds for reference.

    Social Media Management

    • Develop and execute social media strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
    • Manage all social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
    • Create and curate engaging content, including text, images, and videos, tailored to each platform and audience.
    • Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, and respond in a timely and professional manner.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in social media marketing.

    Graphic Designs

    • Conceptualize and design visual assets, including but not limited to logos, brochures, social media graphics, website layouts, and presentations.
    • Collaborate with M&E team to come up with monthly info graphics situation report across all projects under implementation.
    • Develop and maintain brand consistency across all design elements and communication channels.
    • Stay updated on design trends, techniques, and software tools to continuously improve skills and capabilities.
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
    • Working closely with sector heads to come up with unique and creative ideas to mark all internationally recognized Humanitarian & Development Days.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Must have at least 3 years of experience as an HR assistant.
    • Proven experience working in IT support or network administration roles.
    • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, systems administration, and security principles.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Proven experience in social media management, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and advertising tools.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and storytelling.
    • Proven experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design projects.
    • Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

    Nurse/Midwife

    Job Summary

    Nurse/Midwife provides technical support and mentoring to CHEWs in the supported primary health facilities, under the direct supervision of Clinical Supervisors and Team lead, the Nurse/Midwife supervises and ensure execution of the Nutrition/Health activities including, SAM/MAM cases, ANC, PNC, basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care, family planning, , deliveries etc. in accordance with the project design, planning, implementation, monitoring and report progress of support of the planned objectives to aligned with project goals and strategy.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assists the preparation and periodic update of the Situation Analysis by compiling Health & Nutrition data, analyzing and evaluating relevant information and providing the technical input in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Drafts chapters, prepares statistical data reports, and assists with preparation of sectoral input to the program documents as required. Contributes to the consultation and coordination with key partners at all levels.
    • Provides professional technical assistance to CHEWs in supported PHCs on the integration of the SRH & Nutrition services, clinical treatment, management and support deliveries that will contributes to building CHEWs skills on BEmONC, SAM/MAM cases, ANC, PNC, basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care, family planning, deliveries etc. Establish partnerships to promote innovative approaches to address immediate and underlying determinants of maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition.
    • Strictly adhere to clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures set by the Adamawa State Health Care Development Agency
    • Support the Clinical Supervisor during mobile medical outreaches in hard-to-reach communities away from the health facility
    • Support the Medical Clinical Supervisor in identifying necessary action for adjustments, improvement and sustainability of the project achievement
    • Reports outcome to Clinical Supervisors
    • Provides timely data on ANC, PNC, Deliveries, SAM/MAM case, number of beneficiaries who access commodities, sensitization, etc to M&E officer
    • Ensure follow ups/referrals
    • Work in assigned health facility(ies) to provide technical guidance on project activities to MoH staff and follows up on cases
    • Notify the Clinical Supervisor levels of essential commodities selected PHCs and households conducted in transparent manner in accordance with LESGO accountability procedure.
    • Keeps close contacts with community stakeholders in order to improve the ability to collect and disseminate relevant information on program/project implementation in the communities and feedbacks
    • Assists the monitoring team to ensure that data collection and analysis from field visits are standardized to feed into to M&E monitoring plan.
    • Ensure timely preparation of Monthly/quarterly reports
    • In case of emergency, assists in monitoring and assessing the nature and extent of the emergency in the assigned area.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Midwife or any other health related field
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent leadership and coordination spirit
    • Fluent in English and local language (Hausa)
    • Experience working with NGO
    • At least 3 years’ experience in coordinating, implementing and managing primary and secondary health program
    • Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors.

    Risk Communication and Graphic Designer Officer

    Job Summary

    This position requires a deep understanding of design principles and visual storytelling. The Officer will be responsible for day-to-day graphic design tasks, which includes branding materials, and other visual content for the organization. The Officer will also be responsible for ensuring the visual identity of the organization is consistent with its mission and values. The Risk Communication and Graphic Designer Officer will lead LESGO communication and Story Telling/Writing, he/she will play a vital role in visually communicating messages, engaging with community, and creating compelling narratives related to all aspect of project implementation (Health, WaSH, GBV, and HLP).

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop visually compelling designs for various platforms to increase awareness of our organization, programs, and initiatives.
    • Create engaging and emotive stories that resonate with our target audience, highlighting the impact of our programs and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the I.T team, MEAL team and PM to visually promote events, mobile health activities, and awareness campaigns.
    • Stay informed about the latest design trends, storytelling techniques, and best practices, and share relevant information with our audience.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including educators, patients, and parents, to gather content and stories that highlight the impact of our programs and initiatives.
    • Utilize your design skills to create captivating visual content for social media, website, and promotional materials, including flyers, banners, and infographics.
    • Lead documentation of success/human interest stories in collaboration with the I.T team.
    • Conduct comprehensive report and documentation of lessons learnt and best practices to achieve project goals and activities.
    • Collaborating with our team to ensure consistent branding and visual identity across all platforms
    • Assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of our organization's website

    Requirements

    • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • Must have at least not less than 3 years experience
    • Proficiency in Communication, Success-Story and outcome harvesting
    • Experience in web design and familiarity with content management systems (CMS)

    Protection Officer

    • Location: Madagali and Yola South - Adamawa
    • Duration: 6 months

    JOB SUMMARY

    LESGO is looking for a Protection/GBV Officer to provide day to day management of GBV prevention related activities in project locations. The holder of the position will work under the overall supervision of the Project Manager. S/he will coordinate, manage, & supervise the direct implementation of community based GBV Prevention and Women & Girls Safe Spaces activities in Yola South and Madagali LGAs in Adamawa State. S/he will work and liaise closely with the Health Coordinator and M&E Officer, on coordination of all GBV related activities as per the donor requirements. The position holder will work closely with relevant state ministries, LGA representatives and community structures.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibility 1: Planning and Implementing protection, GBV & HLP activities at the field

    • Take lead in the consultation, planning and implementation of programmes and activities aimed at increasing Women and Girls participation and involvement in LESGO project activities as well as their improved access to services.
    • Identify and promote culturally appropriate/relevant interventions geared towards improved physical and reproductive health, social skills (conflict resolution, problem solving, empathy and relationship building) and self-sufficiency of target beneficiaries.
    • Identify Housing Land and Property (HLP) cases at project locations, refer same to the HLP sub-sector, and follow through to ascertain that the cases are attended to solved to an appreciable outcome.
    • Support in the identification of extremely vulnerable girls and young women for appropriate direct LESGO support or referral to other actors for services not offered at LESGO.
    • Actively support in implementation of social norms transformation activities like SAA and other GBV prevention approaches when requested and required to by the supervisor.
    • Ensure awareness raising activities at the community level are conducted and key messages on GBV prevention and response shared appropriately.
    • Manage and mentor the community-based protection committees including GBV champions, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure quality in their work and better community engagement techniques.
    • Support day to day activities at the women and girls’ safe spaces including consultations with the project participants, information sharing and psychosocial support.

    Responsibility 2: Coordination and Networking

    • Maintain and strengthen existing networks through other service providers at LGA level, to ensure that survivors receive quality services and support.
    • Coordinate with other operating partners including CSOs, local and International NGOs, local women and youth groups and State and LGA departments in all actions relating to improved quality of GBV programming in the project locations in Adamawa
    • Strengthen existing referral systems and identify new networks to work with to ensure holistic support to the clients.
    • In collaboration with other partners, awareness raising interventions within the community focusing on the protection needs of all.
    • Participate in conducting trainings for partners on relevant organizational development areas and support peer learning between LESGO and other partner agencies.

    Responsibility 3: Community Engagement and Outreach

    • Conduct sensitization, dialogues and awareness sessions with the wider population about issues of Sexual and Gender based violence and women HLP rights.
    • Identify and strengthen Community structures through engaging community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that the survivors receive adequate support at the community level.
    • Ensure monthly work plans are developed and reviewed regularly. 
    • Hold regular meetings with staff to plan and address any concerns and share feedback.

    Responsibility 4: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

    • Assist in preparing monthly progress report
    • Use appropriate data collection tools and submit assessments and reports in a timely and accurate manner to the MEAL team 
    • Assist in the designing, planning, implementing and facilitating of external trainings for numerous target groups.
    • Ensure Core Humanitarian Accountability Standards are mainstreamed in the day-to-day project implementation. 
    • Assist with any other related activities as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
    • Support in conducting assessment and analysis of camp and host community dynamics and in recommending how the project can position itself to better serve the interests of the community.
    • Support the MEAL staff to develop project monitoring and evaluation tools and assist in mid-term and end of project evaluations. Ensure safe and proper documentation and storage/filling of all GBV related program materials. 
    • Monitor work plan and its effectiveness and efficient implementation.
    • Support document success/human interest stories in collaboration with the communication team.
    • Conduct comprehensive report and documentation of lessons learnt and best practices to achieve project goals and activities.

    Responsibility 5: Staff supervision & Capacity Development

    • Ensure monthly work plans are developed and reviewed regularly. 
    • Hold regular meetings with staff to plan and address any concerns and share feedback.
    • Monitor and provide objective feedback related to staff performance, including completing staff performance development evaluations to promote growth and professional development.
    • Provide leadership and support to ensure staff well-being, i.e. monitor and manage stress management by providing regular opportunities for staff debriefing to address secondary trauma.
    • Organize for internal peer to peer capacity building forums on GBV

    Other Responsibilities:

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree (Social sciences; Psychology, Community Health, International Relations, Law, Community Development or relevant Social Sciences.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in protection work supervisory responsibilities over national staff, program development, planning and implementation.
    • Must have in-depth technical expertise on Protection, Women and Girls’ safe spaces programming and Gender Based Violence related issues including having a clear understanding of gender inequality, Housing Land and Property (HLP) and issues surrounding discrimination and violence against women and girls.
    • Must have experience with operationalizing GBV principles; Human Rights Law, Housing Land and Property Laws, Humanitarian principles and other relevant international standards in a humanitarian aid setting; Well versed with Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS).
    • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with local staff, beneficiaries, duty bearers and other stakeholders.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office -word, presentation, excel, access and outlook.

    Desired

    • Proficient in community mobilization, challenging social norms/relations, Behavior Change Communication and Case Management with good facilitation skills.
    • Proven record of providing trainings and workshops on gender and GBV, SRH, topics in a variety of settings.
