    CBT/Agricultural Officer (Service Provider)

    Job Summary

    The CBT/AGRICULTURAL Officer will be responsible for managing the food voucher component of the project, which will include designing, implementing and monitoring the food voucher/agricultural activities to ensure that they meet the project's objectives and deliverables. S/he will work closely with the project team, implementing partners and stakeholders to provide unconditional food and cash assistance to food insecure women, children, elderly persons, and people with disability affected by the crisis. The position will coordinate the food voucher distribution activities in 4 LGAs of Yobe State (Karasuwa & Nguru) and Jigawa State (Hadejia & Jahun LGAs)

    Location: Nguru, Yobe State.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Job Responsibility #1: Support to Project Management

    • Coordinate e-voucher redemption and managing all feedback from project participants.
    • Take a lead in targeting, SCOPE registration and card distribution to project participants.
    • Participate in developing action plans of food distribution and introduce proper alternatives and adjustments of processes in accordance with minimum requirements for food distribution.
    • Train, assign and evaluate the work for community-based staff.
    • Manage crowd and ensure proper alignment of beneficiaries especially women and those of special needs.
    • Ensure food items in vendor’s shops are stored in good conditions.
    • Regular participation in cluster meetings at local level, particularly with regard to Food Security and cash working group.
    • Distribute seeds and monitor all agricultural related activities in the project.

    Job Responsibility #2: Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting

    • Support in monitoring the activities of vendors during food redemption
    • Review, prepare, and submit daily reports as supplies and food delivered
    • Conduct on monthly basis price monitoring and periodic market assessments
    • Monitor food prices in the project intervention areas in coordination with MEB.
    • Report all field activities to Project Coordinator

    Job Responsibility #3: Project Sensitization and Awareness

    • Conduct sensitization among PLW and children under 5 years. 
    • Other Responsibilities as Assigned

    QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    Required:

    • University degree/HND/OND in any of the following disciplines: Agricultural Economics or related field.
    • At least 3 years of experience in connection with project management in the food security and / or livelihood sector, and preferably in a non-governmental organization of humanitarian and international character 
    • Previous experience in food distribution supervisory field is preferable.
    • Good communication and report writing skills.
    • Able to work outside of regular working hours as required, including evenings and weekends if required.
    • A good experience in supervision is required. 
    • Experience with survey methodologies, nutrition assessment and relevant data analysis
    • Fluency in English and Hausa.

    Desired:

    • Advanced computers skills at least intermediate skills in windows-based word processing, spreadsheet and nutrition/public health software
    • Ability to establish priorities, plan, coordinate and organize own work plan.

    • Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and public speaking skills 
    • Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
