    Non-Executive Director- IT/Innovation

    Description

    A leading Financial Services Company in Nigeria is looking for a Non-Executive Director (IT/Innovation) to fill a casual vacancy on the Board. The appointee will provide leadership and strategic oversight, ensuring effective governance and decision-making processes while contributing to the company's long-term success. The anticipated Director will be a successful business leader with some board experience. He/she must be able to engage with key stakeholders including investors and support the CEO and the entire board in driving value and sustainable growth.

    Responsibilities

    • Define and approve the bank's strategic goals, guiding technology and innovation initiatives.
    • Drive the development and implementation of Information Technology (IT) Frameworks that covers data confidentiality, network security, third party connections, incidence response and reporting.
    • Ensure the strict compliance with CBN regulations and other relevant industry standards.
    • Conduct routine reviews of the Bank's investment policies and strategies.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of succession plans for key executive roles.
    • Ensure the bank has a robust Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place to mitigate risks and maintain operations during disruptions.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s and Master's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration.
    • Background in one or multiple sectors: Financial Services and Financial Technology with demonstrable network within the industry.
    • Demonstrated expertise in relevant areas such as software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, or financial technology.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, including those related to technology and innovation within the financial services/ financial technology sector in Nigeria
    • Deep understanding of cybersecurity threats and best practices within the banking sector
    • Ability to think strategically, analyze industry trends, and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
    • Expertise in internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks
    • Excellent communication skills and sophisticated interpersonal and social awareness
    • Demonstrated track record of driving performance and accountability.
    • Ability to command the respect of a diverse array of stakeholders.
