    Category Lead

    Job Description

    The Category Lead would be responsible for handling the company’s end-to-end sourcing of products and services essential for our operations.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management.
    • Take overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing management goals of the category and implement action items to ensure the goals are achieved.
    • Responsible for the procurement of contracts including management of cost, schedule, and performance parameters. Developing contract specifications, work statements and terms and conditions
    • Developing bid packages, conducting bidders’ conferences, analysing, and evaluating proposals, negotiating subcontract provisions, selecting or recommending subcontractors, writing awards and managing resulting subcontracts.
    • Maintain vendor database and report metrics to Supply Chain Management
    • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost methods.
    • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply and utilize emerging opportunities.
    • Managing supplier relationships, performing root cause analysis and resolutions, and developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans.
    • Develop and implement sourcing and supplier selection strategy domestically and internationally.
    • Facilitate and monitor the implementation of procurement change initiatives within the category to improve business performance.
    • Analyzing and calculating costs of procurement and suggesting methods to decrease expenditure.
    • Ensure team members update tracking portals weekly for the provision of up-to-date information and guide management decisions.
    • Manage the supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.
    • Estimate risks and apply risk-minimising techniques. Escalate risks where necessary for immediate mitigation.
    • Establishing a strong network and fostering collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and team members.
    • Awareness, understanding and application of Quality & HSE policies on assigned jobs.
    • Awareness, understanding and application of departmental /process objectives.
    • Awareness of your contribution to the effectiveness of the IMS, including the benefits of improved performance.
    • Awareness of the risks of not conforming with the EGBIN IMS requirements.

    Education and Work Experience

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, transportation, or engineering
    • Postgraduate qualification/or relevant qualification is desirable; membership in a recognized chartered organization relevant to the post is also desirable.
    • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years strategic sourcing experience.

    Skills and competencies

    • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software.
    • Experience with contract manufacturing vendors.
    • Knowledge of terminologies related to supplier or vendor agreements.
    • Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement
    • Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
    • Solid judgement with the ability to make good decisions.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Basic knowledge of regulatory norms on taxation, duties, and import policies.
    • Time Management skills.
    • Good negotiation and bargaining skills.

    Compensation & Benefits Specialist

    Job Summary

    To ensure efficient administration and implementation of the payroll and compensation-related activities organization-wide.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure the regular update and integrity of staff compensation details on the payroll system.
    • Coordinate the accurate and timely processing of staff salaries and benefits organization-wide.
    • Oversee the timely preparation and dispatch of monthly pay slips to all staff organization-wide.
    • Assist in the administration and implementation of employee compensation and benefit plans.
    • Assist in tracking and reporting all payroll-related issues and complaints from staff.
    • Prepare and ensure timely processing and remittance of all payroll-related deductions e g PAYE, pension contributions, etc.
    • Coordinate handling payroll-related queries/disputes e.g. PAYE audit, pension, audit, etc.
    • Ensure proper maintenance and administration of the payroll system
    • Coordinate the processing of staff Tax Clearance Certificates (TCC)
    • Recommend and participate in the development or revision of Compensation Management policies
    • Assist in keeping track of global and local best practices as they relate to compensation management and notify the Senior Compensation Officer accordingly.
    • Participate in team meetings and activities as required.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head, of Human Resources.
    • Implement data protection policies and practices of Egbin Power Plc.
    • Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws, and data protection policies.
    • Undertake Data Protection Impact Assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing  operations
    • Ensure awareness, understanding and application of QHSE policy and application of departmental objectives.
    • Understand and identify hazards, risks, environmental aspects and Impacts as it is related to their jobs.
    • Ensure awareness of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018) and the implications of not conforming with the requirements.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in humanities, social science or relevant discipline.
    • Professional qualification in HR Management e.g. Senior Professional in Human Resources International(SPHRI), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Good knowledge of the power sector in terms of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, legislation etc.
    • Excellent numerical skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of salary structure and development, typical benefits and compensation and other related activities.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of market/ industry information on compensation and benefits.
    • Sound understanding of payroll management systems and ability to perform complex troubleshooting operations.
    • Strong leadership, relationship management and interpersonal skills.
    • Very good communication, business writing and presentation skills.
    • Excellent negotiation skills and influencing skills.
    • High ethical standards and integrity.
