    Librarian

    Description 

    • As the Librarian for our esteemed institution, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and research needs of our nursing students, faculty, and staff.
    • This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and professional development of future healthcare leaders.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the nursing school library, including acquisition, organization, and maintenance of print and electronic resources relevant to nursing education and research.
    • Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and staff, helping them navigate resources effectively and efficiently.
    • Collaborate with faculty to develop and deliver information literacy instruction tailored to the needs of nursing students, including workshops and tutorials on research skills, database usage, and citation management.
    • Stay current with trends in nursing education and information science, and continuously evaluate and update library resources and services to meet the evolving needs of the nursing school community.
    • Participate in collection development activities, including selection, evaluation, and deselection of library materials, with a focus on supporting the nursing curriculum and research interests.
    • Promote library resources and services through outreach activities, including orientations, presentations, and marketing initiatives targeted at nursing students and faculty.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of library policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives in collaboration with library colleagues and school administration.

    Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Library and Information Science.
    • 3-5 years of experience working in an academic library, preferably in a healthcare or nursing education setting.
    • Knowledge of information resources and research methodologies relevant to nursing and healthcare disciplines.
    • Familiarity with library technologies and systems, including integrated library systems (ILS), electronic resource management (ERM), and discovery tools.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and supporting the information needs of library users.
    • Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in library services and collection
