    Administrative and Health Management Organization Liaison Officer

    Job Summary: 

    • The Liaison Officer serves as the key point of contact between the health management organization, its administrative departments, external healthcare providers, governmental agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • The primary responsibility is to facilitate smooth communication, ensure alignment of goals, and coordinate activities to achieve the organization's objectives.
    • This role requires a strong understanding of both healthcare administration and public health management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Communication and Coordination:

    • Act as a primary contact between the organization and external agencies, healthcare providers, and governmental bodies.
    • Facilitate communication between different departments within the organization to ensure that all parties are informed and aligned.
    • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and workshops involving internal and external stakeholders.

    Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and community organizations.
    • Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

    Policy and Compliance:

    • Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and guidelines.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to healthcare management and administration.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with health management standards.

    Project Management:

    • Coordinate and manage special projects related to healthcare administration, including the implementation of new systems, processes, or initiatives.
    • Monitor the progress of projects and report on key milestones and outcomes to senior management.

    Data Management and Reporting:

    • Collect and analyze data related to healthcare services, administrative processes, and stakeholder interactions.
    • Prepare and present reports to senior management, outlining key findings and recommendations for improvement.

    Training and Support:

    • Provide training and support to staff on issues related to healthcare administration, policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new staff members in the organization.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or a related field.
    • A Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a liaison, administrative, or healthcare management role.
    • Experience working with healthcare providers, government agencies, or regulatory bodies is highly desirable.

    Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
    • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.

    Working Conditions:

    • The position may require occasional travel to meet with external stakeholders, attend conferences, or participate in off-site meetings.
    • The role may involve working outside of regular business hours, particularly during emergencies or project deadlines.

    Reporting Structure:

    • The Liaison Officer typically reports to the Medical Director and Director of Nursing and other senior management position within the organization.

    Clinical Embryologist

    Job Summary:

    • The Clinical Embryologist is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures related to in vitro fertilization (IVF), including the handling of gametes (sperm and eggs), fertilization, embryo culture, and cryopreservation.
    • The role involves working closely with physicians, nurses, and patients to ensure the successful treatment and management of infertility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Laboratory Procedures:

    • Perform IVF procedures, including oocyte retrieval, sperm preparation, insemination, embryo culture, and embryo transfer.
    • Conduct intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) as required. Opportunity for critical training for these tasks is available if not proficient yet.
    • Handle the cryopreservation and thawing of embryos, oocytes, and sperm using vitrification and other cryopreservation techniques.

    Quality Control and Assurance:

    • Maintain high standards of laboratory practice, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices in embryology.
    • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, cleanliness, and functionality.
    • Participate in quality control programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

    Patient Interaction and Consultation:

    • Provide information and support to patients regarding laboratory procedures and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
    • Communicate with patients about the progress and outcomes of their treatment cycles, including providing updates on embryo development and cryopreservation.

    Data Management and Documentation:

    • Accurately document all laboratory procedures, patient interactions, and results in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
    • Manage and maintain detailed records of all gamete and embryo handling processes.
    • Take part in data collection and analysis for clinical research and improvement of ART techniques.

    Research and Development:

    • Stay updated on the latest developments in embryology, IVF technology, and reproductive medicine.
    • Participate in research projects and clinical trials related to ART and fertility treatment.
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of laboratory protocols and techniques.
    • Significant contribution to data collection and entry into the official AFRHRegistry.

    Training and Education:

    • Provide training and mentorship to junior embryologists, laboratory technicians, and other staff.

    Compliance and Ethics:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, including local, national, and international guidelines for ART.
    • Adhere to ethical standards in the handling of gametes and embryos, ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Reproductive Science, human anatomy or a related field.
    • Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology, Reproductive Medicine, or a related field isanatomy,ed advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working in a clinical embryology laboratory.
    • Hands-on experience with IVF procedures, including ICSI, embryo culture, and cryopreservation.

    Skills:

    • Proficiency in micromanipulation techniques, including ICSI.
    • Strong understanding of reproductive biology, embryology, and ART.
    • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

    Registered Nurse Midwife

    Job Summary:

    • As an experienced Nurse Midwife, you will provide comprehensive prenatal and postnatal care to patients, manage labour and delivery with the consultant obstetrician (who proactively monitors and direct activities), and offer routine gynaecological services.
    • The role involves educating patients on childbirth, postpartum care, and family planning.
    • The Nurse Midwife works collaboratively with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for mother and baby.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Prenatal Care:

    • Conduct initial and ongoing prenatal assessments.
    • Monitor fetal development and maternal health.
    • Provide education and counselling on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
    • Develop and implement individualised birth plans.

    Labour and Delivery:

    Qualifications:

    • Batchelors degree or Diploma in Nurse-Midwifery from an accredited Nursing institution.
    • Current and valid Nurse Midwife certification and license to practice.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing and midwifery or related field.
    • Experience in managing labour and delivery.

    Skills:

    • Strong clinical skills in prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care.
    • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team.
    • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

    Certifications and licenses:

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) credential.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications will be an advantage.
